Frequently Asked Questions

Answers for a Confident Recovery

Everything you need to know about private post-surgical nursing with Luxe Recovery RN.

About the Service

Who can use Luxe Recovery RN?

Adults recovering from surgery who have been medically discharged and would like private, one-on-one registered nursing support at home or in a hotel.

Luxe Recovery RN provides recovery care after plastic and cosmetic surgery. We will confirm that our services are a good fit for your recovery before care is scheduled.

Does Luxe replace my surgeon or surgical team?

No. Your surgeon remains in charge of your medical care. Your Luxe nurse follows your surgeon’s prescribed postoperative plan and, when appropriate, communicates with your surgical team.

Where is care provided?

In your private residence or your hotel within the St. Louis area. A travel fee applies to locations more than 30 miles away. If you are recovering somewhere else, please ask — we will let you know what is possible.

Do you provide transportation after surgery?

Yes. Transportation from your surgical facility to your home or hotel after your procedure is included with your care.

Is this covered by insurance?

Luxe Recovery RN is a private-pay service. A 25% nonrefundable deposit reserves your date, and the remaining balance is due 7 days before your scheduled service.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations received at least 7 calendar days before your service date are refunded any amount paid above the 25% nonrefundable deposit. Cancellations made less than 7 days before service are nonrefundable.

If your surgeon reschedules your procedure, we will make reasonable efforts to move your booking to the new date. Full details are on our Deposit & Cancellation Policy page.

Planning Your Care

How does overnight care work?

With Luxe Overnight Recovery, a registered nurse stays with you for 12 hours through your first night of recovery — monitoring how you are doing, assisting with prescribed medications, helping you move safely and keeping you comfortable so you and your loved ones can rest.

How far in advance should I reserve care?

As soon as your surgery date is scheduled. Reserving early gives us time to review your needs and coordinate your care around your procedure and discharge time.

Is there a minimum length of care?

Yes — a 4-hour minimum applies. Additional consecutive hours can be added beyond a scheduled package.

What should I have available after surgery?

Your written discharge and postoperative instructions, your prescribed medications, your surgeon’s contact information, and any supplies or compression garments your surgeon has ordered.

A comfortable, well-lit recovery space with a clear path to the bathroom is also helpful.

Safety & Concerns

What happens if the nurse identifies a medical concern?

Your nurse will assess the situation and follow your surgeon’s instructions, contacting your surgical team as appropriate. If a situation is urgent or life-threatening, your nurse will call 911.

Is Luxe Recovery RN an emergency service?

No. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
